12 Skills for the Everyday Cook – Homemade butter and buttermilk! (Skill 4)

By : | 0 Comments | On : October 28, 2022 | Category : 12 Skills

It’s my goal between now and Christmas to hone in on 12 Skills the Everyday Cook needs to know. Some of these are skills I don’t know and I’m just learning (so feel free to correct me, but be kind), while others are skills I know but I want to share because I feel like it’s a good one to learn and know.

The fourth skill I decided to learn is making butter (to go with that bread–skill 3?). I’ve accidently made butter before, but never made it on purpose! And I’ve certainly never flavored it. So, since almost everyone needs butter at least once or twice a year (month? week? day?) I thought this would be a good skill to highlight. And bonus, I’m going to make some uncultured buttermilk too as a biproduct!
